Kaktai News

Kaktai 039
New on the rosta for Kaktai is a relatively new name on the circuit - Richard Toomz.
Dom recently hooked up with him in 404studio for two sessoins that resulted in an EP that just had to go on Kaktai. Richard Toomz shows a real talent for a sound that has real energy and club savvy awareness and when mixed with the production wizardry of Dom, came up with these two top class tunes.
The first track from Richard and making massive waves is "Chorizo" . . play
Caned by many top djs, Chorizo brings a much needed fresh edge to the scene. Cheeky vocal hooks and a tuff organ lead fire it to the peak time sound that it deserves and boy does it hit the spot.
The flip side to this release is another corker entitled "Backplane" . . . . play
Backplane rocks along with ease as it pumps out a wicked mid session groove. Again, with good use of vocal hooks and a well executed riff Richard shows a flair for his own sound. Hopefully there will be more to come.

Kaktai
Hard house fans will greet news of a release on Kaktai with feverish anticipation as the genre has had a lean period for quality releases in recent weeks. Young gun Richard Toomz upholds the fine Kaktai tradition of cutting edge, groove based hard house by delivering arguably his best works to date here in 'Chorizo' and proving hard can also mean funky thanks to a killer bassline and diva vocal samples, while 'Backplane' lays down more of a riff fuelled hard NRG fest.

Kaktai 037

Kaktai Records welcomes two fresh faces to the label. Frank Farrell and Mr Clarke.
Both have independantly teamed up with Dom Sweeten and come up with two slices of what can only be described as proper studio madness.

First up we have Defective Audio Vs Mr Clarke "Spine Shuffle" . . . . .
This delivers a techy and bass laden track pushed along by low stabs metalic fx loops and gated chords. The drop focuses around the wicked use of stretched vocals and the simple return of what is obviously a no messing sound
that never fails to hit where it counts... on a rig and to simply get ya heads down to.

On the flip there is an absolute gem. Frank Farrell "Symbiotic" . . . . . .
When you put Dom Sweeten in a studio with someone like Frank farrell the results are sure to be hard. Dom has helped Frank show why he is a sound to be reckoned with. Symbiotic is driven by Franks trademark kick and dry slamming beats. The bass (whick Frank was intent on hurting with) rips through all the rigs we have tested this on and carries the track into the mayhem that is "Frank Farrell goes to town but catches the bus to hard nrg techniod bass and pumpster pimp land instead!!"
Acid lines and psy type leads lace Symbiotic before a massive detuned riff emerges to conquer the remaining pieces of our brains and then blending it into a preverbial techno smoothie.
